Cats’ fingerprints are located in their muzzle​​​

Human fingerprints are found on the finger tips.​ In cats, the location is the muzzle : each cat has their very own unique nose.​ Nose leather is the hairless part of the tip of the nose, where the cat’s nostrils are located.

Contrary to the popular belief that it should be pink, a cat’s nose is always the same colour as the pads of their paws, so it can be black or spotted.

The cat’s nose is an essential tool, because the main method of communication is through scent. Particularly the pheromones the cats deposits on furniture, in their excrement or urine… smells which are totally undetectable to humans
